(Chamber Plan News)

April 1 of each year is the national renewal date for all plans under the Chamber of Commerce Benefit Plan.

We are pleased to present a Chambers Plan renewal that once again emphasizes the Plan’s commitment to rate stability for participating Plan members.

The national bottom line renewal for all benefits in 2019 is 4.4%, which compares favourably with the overall average renewal action over the past decade of 4.0%.

Key Changes for 2019 are as follows:

Life / AD&D

Our Life plans can provide financial support to your employee’s families in the event of their death. Employees have assurance that their families will have financial protection during this distressing time.  We have coverage up to $300,000, Guarantee Issue volumes of coverage for firms with 3 or more employees, the Living Benefit provision is included in all policies.

Long Term Disability (LTD)

We have increased our current NEM’s (Non Evidence Maximums) for the Long Term Disability benefits. There is coverage up to $8,000 per month. Please contact our office for details.

Weekly Indemnity (WI)

The current Overall Maximum and NEM for the Weekly Indemnity benefit under the Chambers Plan will be increasing. There is coverage up to $1,200 per week. Please contact our office for details.

Health Coverage Changes

Nursing care up to $25,000 per 24 months, additional paramedical practitioner services, on-line eClaims and a Health Access Line

Business Assistance Service (BAS)

BAS provides owners access to professional accounting, legal and human resource experts who understand the challenges small business owners face.  It provides confidential coaching to address staff issues including performance management, absenteeism, conflict and difficult behaviour.  It also has a referral service to help employees deal with work-related problems, dependency problems, marital and family problems and personal problems.
